Cactuss Lifestyle Store is an experimental mixed commercial space that challenges the conventional retail experience in China through the insertion of disparate programs within a single store.

The project is a 2-storey retail space located in Chengdu, China. As a response to the competitive mono-brand, mono-product retail market in China, it was conceived as an alternative experimental mixed commercial space that combines fashion and lifestyle retail experiences with a speciality café and co-working spaces on the ground floor and a feature cocktail bar on the 2nd floor.

Aesthetically, the project is inspired by the natural living environment of cacti. Hues of sand, dusty pinks, and shades of white colour the interiors, juxtaposed with natural stone surfaces, sandy cement screed floors, textured plastering give a nod to a deconstructed, yet whimsical interpretation of a dry desert landscape. Furnitures, visual merchandise, fixtures and light fittings were all custom bespoke to give added touch-points and finesse to the end-user.

Cactuss Lifestyle Store is a winner of Singapore Good Design Award (SG Mark) 2020.
