Kaizen is a Singapore-based group of architects, furniture designers and digital natives.
We believe in the continual improvement of lifestyles, urban landscapes and perception of society through architecture. We pursue the evolution of impact and inspiration as being firstly rooted in the principles of scale, form, proportion and composition before rethinking standard perceptions and norms of architecture and space making.
It is in creating spatial, programmatic and material ironies that spark conversations and evoke memories that liberates our work as architects to fill the earth with relevant, timeless appendix of architecture that improves contemporary life.
About the Principal
AR. MELVIN KENG is a registered architect in Singapore and graduated from National University of Singapore with a Masters in Architecture degree. He was previously mentored by Ar. Rene Tan, President’s Design Award Laurette at RT+Q Architects Pte Ltd, where he honed his craft and skills for nearly a decade and acquired a vast portfolio of work of varying scales, especially in the specialty of luxury housing & residential developments, before embarking on his own.
Now, Melvin focuses his design thinking on how to use architecture as a medium to weave art, contemporary culture, branding and digital media, especially in this modern age of digital disruption. He believes that architecture is now more than just space-making but in fact can be place-makers and products for public consumption.
In his free time, Melvin collects limited edition sneakers.
